Life to the Pixies

In the late 80’s while Poison, Whitesnake, and countless other banal hair bands saturated MTV and radio, the Pixies were the best band not many people knew about.

They were smart, funny, a little pissed off, and cooler than you. All the things that make a great rock band.

Anyone who liked the band really liked them, and was very disappointed when they broke up in their prime.

No. 13 Baby is a Pixies cover band featuring Craig Montgomery, Jeff Barnes (formerly of Carmine), Jennifer Czeisler (Radio Killers) and Jason Finn (Presidents of the U.S.A.).

If you never got to see the Pixies or caught them on a night when they were particularly pissed at each other and sucked, No. 13 Baby is a treat. They don’t look like them and there’s no shtick, but if you close your eyes you’d swear it was 1989 and you were stoned in your dorm room wondering why Doolittle wasn’t the biggest record since Sgt. Pepper’s.

No. 13 Baby have kindly taken the time to learn more than one set’s worth of material, so if there’s that one song you have to hear, buy them a drink and they’ll probably play it for you.

They are smart, funny, not very pissed off and probably not cooler than you (they’re in a cover band!) But they do have a cute girl bass player, a famous drummer, and none of them hate each other. Most importantly, they sound just like the Pixies and that’s a good thing.
